F. Craig Lack, 1944-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa

OSAGE, IOWA -- F. Craig Lack, 51, of St. Joseph, Missouri, died Wednesday (January 10, 1996) at a St. Joseph Hospital of lung cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 1996, at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Orchard, with the Rev. A.C. Wegner officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. conducted by the Osage Lodge 102 A.F.& A.M.

He was born April 19, 1944 in Osage, the son of Robert W. and Dorothy E. (Mark) Lack. He graduated with honors from Osage High School, where he had been president of the National Honor Society and active in all sports. He attended Mason City Junior College.

Craig married Carolyn K. DeMaranville on Nov. 25, 1977 in Des Moines, Iowa. He moved to St. Joseph 19 years ago where he owned and operated Superior Chemical in St. Joseph. Craig also had been a field territory manager for Amoco Oil for 20 years. He also was associated in the business of his wife, Carolyn, in Carol's Corner Gift Shop, in the Holiday Inn in St. Joseph.

Mr. Lack was a Christian. He was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, of which he was a 32nd degree Mason, and Moila Temple Shrine, both of St. Joseph, Mo., and the Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M. of Hiawatha, Kan.

He is survived by his father, Robert W. Lack of Osage; his wife, Carolyn K. Lack of St. Joseph, Mo.; one son, Christopher M. Lack of Grandview, Mo.; three daughters, Tammy Weigart of Helena, Mo., Jacqeline Bell of Rickland, Mass., and Debra DeMaranville of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy E. Lack.
