William "Bill" Kuhn, 1932-2003
Funeral services were held for William "Bill" Kuhn formerly of Elma and presently of Las Vegas, Nevada on February 5, 2003 at Our Lady of Las Vegas Catholic Church with Mass concelebrated by Father Richard Kuhn of Peosta, Iowa and Father Robert Peckaweitz. Burial followed at Palm Valley Memorial Park, Las Vegas, Nevada. William died at his home in Las Vegas, Nevada, Friday, January 31, 2003 of a heart attack.
Kuhn was born January 24, 1932 in Osage, Mitchell county, Iowa, son of Clarence and Millie Meirick Kuhn. He was raised in Elma and graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1951. He served in the US Air Force. Upon discharge from service in 1956, he married Catherine Melchionne. He was employed by DeLuca Coors Beer Distributorship for 20 years, serving as that company's general manager many years. He then built the Magic Wand Truck Stop also in Las Vegas which he owned and operated until his recent retirement.
William's survivors include his wife Catherine; sons Cliff, Mark and Paul; daughters Lisa DeLong, Nadine Sekavec and Lynda Murphy, all of Las Vegas; a brother Joe of Port Aransas, Texas; sisters Mary Ann Goings and Carol Eckerman both of Evansdale, IA; Helen Hites of Tacoma, Washington, and Dolores Allen of Littleton, Colorado; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
