Olive Helen (Blake) Koenigs [1919-2001]

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 15, 2001 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville, for Olive Helen (Blake) Koenigs, age 82, of Stacyville. Rev. Joseph Schneider officiated and burial was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Meyer. She passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2001 at her home in Stacyville.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of arrangements.

Olive was born Feb. 25, 1919 to Joseph and Mary (Muller) Blake. She married Aloysius P. Koenigs on June 14, 1938. Olive was a housewife and a mother of six. She was a member of Visitation Catholic Church of Stacyville, Thread Clippers Quilting Club, won a bowling championship in Stacyville at the age of 79, a member of the Christian Mothers Society (Meyer & Stacyville), lector, Eucharistic minister and choir member of Sacred Heart parish, Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ernie and Edwin Blake, two sisters, Leona Robinson and Bertha Blake, one son and three daughters who died in infancy.

Olive is survived by her husband Aloysius of Stacyville; three sons, Kenny and wife Veronica, Bob and wife Karen and Steve and wife Lori all of Stacyville; three daughters, Betty Ann Menke and husband Ken of Polo, MO, Sr. Mary Jane Koenigs of Sioux City and Pat Weishaar and husband Tom of Fort Dodge; 12 grandsons, four granddaughters, two step-granddaughters, one great-grandson, two great-granddaughters and a special family friend Dorie Wurth of Sioux City.
