OBITUARY: Mrs. George Helfter, 1874-1911

Mrs. George Helfter died early on Wednesday morning after nearly two weeks of intense suffering of nervous breakdown, leaving five small children who with her husband, and daughter, Gertrude, have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community, in their bereavement. She was a woman on unusual mental and physical energy which she freely spent in the interest and welfare of her family, friends and neighbors by whom she will be greatly missed.

She was also a valued friend of the educational interests of the community. During her illness she frequently expressed a desire to live and care for her family but she was also resigned and ready to go when the summons came. Many beautiful floral tributes of love and esteem were in evidence both at the house and at the church in Newhaven, where the funeral was largely attended, Friday morning.
