Funeral services were held Friday, March 18, 1988 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, for Ida mae Kerckhove, 70, of St. Ansgar. She died Tuesday, March 15, 1988 at her home. The Reverend Thomas Hughes officiated and burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.
She was born February 20, 1918 in Deer Creek Township, Worth County, to Peter and Ida (White) Rasmussen. She attended area schools. She remained in the area until she moved to St. Ansgar to make her home with her sister and brother-in-law, the Herbert Rosenbergs.
She married Frank Kerckhove on September 26, 1938. They farmed for 33 years in the Meltonville area. They retired in St. Ansgar in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Frank of St. Ansgar; four sisters, Mary Mosher of Rockford, Annie Larson of St. Ansgar, Kate Grosland of Forest City, and Emma Skjeveland of St. Ansgar; two brothers, Arthur Rasmussen of Northwood and John Rasmussen of St. Ansgar; and many nieces and nephews.
