OBITUARY: Jessie Estella Cooper Kelley, 1877-1966, Mitchell County, Iowa
MRS. SID KELLEY,
LONGTIME OSAGE RESIDENT,
DIEDFuneral services were held Monday afternoon at the Champion Funeral home for Mrs. Sidney Kelley, 88, who died in her sleep at her home last Wednesday night. She had been in fair health preceding her death. (Mar. 1966.)
The Rev. Robert Smith, pastor of the Methodist Church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Osage cemetery.
Jessie Estella Cooper was born in Knoxville, Ohio, Nov. 25, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cooper. She attended school in Richland Center, Wis., having moved there with her parents as a child. In 1896 she came to Osage and attended dressmaking school, making her home with her two brothers, Edward and Robert Cooper.
She was united in marriage to Sidney H. Kelley, Oct. 4, 1899, at Orchard. They established their home on East Main in Osage, where Mrs. Kelley continued to reside. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the Methodist church, was active in Organ Club and Women's Society of Christian Service.
Mrs. Kelley's survivors include her foster daughter, (Grace) Mrs. Martin Klar of Osage, three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
