OBITUARY: Frank William Kellogg, 1888-1966
FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR F. W. KELLOGG
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon for a McIntire resident, Frank W. Kellogg, 77, who died early Sunday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage. Mr. Kellogg had been in failing health for three years. His condition became worse following a stroke, and he was admitted to the hospital Saturday.
John Gilbert, pastor, was in charge of the services at Wayne Baptist church in McIntire. Martz Funeral Home at LeRoy made the arrangements, and burial was in the Wayne Cemetery.
Frank William Kellogg was born in Wykoff, Minnesota, July 23, 1888, the youngest son of Charles and Anna Culbert Kellogg. When he was 18 months old he moved with his family to Lime Springs. In 1908 the family moved to McIntire.
His marriage to Ruby Inez Shipman took place June 23, 1916. One son, Max Leo, was born to them. Mrs. Kellogg died at their home in Charles City, April 23, 1948.
Mr. Kellogg and Lois Wheeler Shipman were married April 1, 1950. They established their home in McIntire, and he practiced the carpentry trade until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Lois, one son, Max of Rochester; two step-children, Beth, a student at Sioux Falls college, and Airman Harold Shipman with the air force in Dallas, Tex.; one granddaughter, one great-grandaughter, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Mead of Wagner, S.D.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his first wife, four brothers, Fred D., George Albert, Walter Richard and Bert and one sister Alta May.
