Mrs. Frank W. Kellogg
Ruby Inez (Shipman) Kellogg, 1896-1948
Mrs. Frank W. Kellogg, the former Ruby Shipman, died in her home at Charles City, after a long illness. After surgery in a Charles City hospital last February, she gradually grew weaker.
Ruby Inez, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Shipman, was born in Howard County, October 7, 1896. When she was quite young the Shipman family moved to McIntire where she attended school. At an early age Ruby joined the Methodist church and for many years took an active part in the Sunday school. For several years she was musician for the Royal Neighbor lodge and the Wayne Rebekah lodge.
June 21, 1916, she was united in marriage to Frank W. Kellogg.
One son blessed their home. The Kelloggs built a nice home in McIntire that Ruby loved and they still maintain. Much of the Kelloggs' time during the past four years has been spent at Charles City, because Mr. Kellogg's work required that he be there.
Besides her faithful and devoted husband she leaves to mourn her son, Max Leo Kellogg, his wife and child, Charles City; her mother, Mrs. Bertha Shipman, McIntire; her brother, Howard Shipman and family, Dodge Center, Minnesota; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon in the McIntire Methodist church, in charge of the Rev. D. Cummings and the Rev. S. Bodenham and interment made in the McIntire cemetery.
