Funeral services for Willard Edward Feldt, 78, who died Sunday, June 13, 1993, were held Wednesday, June 16 at the St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell, County, with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.
Willard Edward Feldt, the youngest son of William and Margaret Dreher Feldt, was born March 6, 1915 at Rock Township, Mitchell County. He was baptized into the Christian faith by Rev. W. Reinecke on April 5, 1915 and confirmed April 13, 1930 by Rev. C.J. Kumpf at St. John's Lutheran Church.
He attended rural schools in Rock Township to complete his eighth grade education.
On June 29, 1941 he was united in marriage to Arlene Miller at the bride's home in Cushing, Minnesota. They made their home on the family farm east of Grafton and farmed until 1975 when health problems prompted retirement. For 13 years they lived at their lakeside home on Strawberry Lake, Minneosta. Willard enjoyed fishing, gardening, wood cutting and four wheeling. He and Arlene would winter in Texas. In 1988, they purchased a home and returned to St. Ansgar where he resided until the time of his death. Wherever Willard made his home he enjoyed socializing with friends and family.
In March of 1993 Willard's sister, Laura came to live with him. Her sisterly companionship was a great comfort to him.
Willard was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, son Craig, his parents, brothers Alvin, Clarence, Lawrence and Edward Feldt; sisters Mrs. Albert (Hattie) Zimmerman, Mrs. Kenneth (Alice) Heard and Mabel Feldt.
