Edith Schahn rites Monday at Riceville
Edith A. Schahm, 74, died at the Riceville City Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday at the Riceville Methodist Church. The Reverend T. Janet Surdam and Luella G. Koether officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. Bradley Chisholm Funeral Hpme was in charge.
Born Feb 23, 1887, in Howard County, she was the daughter of Fred and Ida Oestreichs Jacobus. She was married in 1908 to Orville McInroy, who died in 1917. In 1928 she was married to Henry Schahn. He died in 1947. She had been a practical nurse for many years.
Surviving are two sons, Carl Mclnroy and Floyd Mclnroy, Riceville; a daughter, Mrs Ione Stickfort, Waterloo; a sister, Mrs. Art (Hazel) Kennedy, Riceville; two brothers, Ray Jacobus, Riceville; Robert Jacobus, Waterloo; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Dewey (Ada) Roberts, Waterville; Mrs. Lila Frost, Nashville, Tennessee; and a stepson, Lloyd Schahn
