Services for Frances Johnson, 67, who died on Sunday at the Osage hospital of cancer, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church; burial in church cemetery. Champion Funeral Home is in charge.
She is survived by four sons: Marvin and Dean, both at home, Norbert of St. Ansgar, and Merrill of Osage.

Funeral services were held September 6th at Rock Creek Lutheran church near Osage for Mrs. Frances Johnson, 67, who died Sunday, September 3rd, at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage. The Rev. Donald L. Berg, church pastor, conducted the services. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery.
Frances Augusta Schmidt was born November 22, 1899 to Carl and Josefa Haberman Schmidt at the farm home near Mitchell. She was baptized March 11, 1900 by the Rev. Mr. Becker and was confirmed in 1914 by the Rev. C.G. Hankammer.
She attended grade school and high school at Mitchell, and was graduated from the Cedar Valley seminary in Osage on May 24, 1918. She was a teacher in Mitchell County for six years.
On June 25, 1924 she was married to Herbert Johnson of the Meroa area.
Christian education was one of the focal points of her life, as she was one of the organizers of the Rock Creek Sunday school. She served as superintendent, assistant superintendent, or secretary for thirty years. She was also an active member in the Women’s Missionary Fellowship and the American Lutheran Church Women, the Altar Guild, board of parish education in her church, and was a member of the Mitchell County Historical society.
She was hospitalized at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage on August 1st.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Edward and Frank; three sisters, Ida (Mrs. William) Belz, Minnie (Mrs. Bert) Rogers, and Helen Schmidt, and her husband, Herbert.
Her sons, Marvin, Merrill, and Dean of Osage, and Norbert of St. Ansgar, and nine grandchildren survive her.
