Clara Louise (Schoger) Johnson, 1881-1908
Mrs. Clara Louise Johnson was born in Grand Forks county, North Dakota, on February 11, 1881, and died at her home west of Osage on June 1, 1908, at the age of 27 years, 3 months and 19 days.
On September 13, 1903, she was united in marriage to John G. Johnson. To this union has been blessed with two bright little boys, one is nearly four, and the other two years of age.
Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Schoger, who reside near Rock Creek Lutheran Church, survive to mourn the early demise of their daughter. Two sisters and two brothers at home and one sister, Mrs. Ella Eliason, of South Dakota, survive to mourn the death of a loving sister. Her husband, who was born and raised in the neighborhood where he now lives, has the sympathy of the entire community in his bereavement.
Mrs. Johnson has always been a member of the Lutheran Church, she was confirmed in the Christian faith and it was manifest that she died a believing Christian.
The funeral was held Thursday morning, June 14th. A short service in the English language was held at the home. It was continued in the Rock Creek Lutheran church that was appropriately decorated for the occasion and was nearly filled with sympathizing relatives and friends. Burial was made in the Rock Creek cemetery near the church.
