Elsie Nicholson Funeral September 23

Funeral services for Elsie Nicholson, 96, of Rochester. Minnesota, who died on September 17, 2002, at Samaritan Bethany Heights, Rochester, were held Monday, September 23 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Grafton, with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson and Rev. Tom Koelin officiating.

Elsie Minnie Krueger was born on November 3, 1905, to Albert and Martha Petznick Krueger in Worth County, Iowa, the third of five children. She attended school in Worth County and was married to Elmer Nicholson on January 13, 1926. They settled on a farm near Carpenter, later moving to a farm near Grafton. In 1957 they returned to farm in the St. Ansgar-Carpenter area until they retired from farming in 1969.

They moved to St. Ansgar where they resided until moving to Rochester, Minnesota in 1984. Elsie was an active member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Grafton, until she moved to Rochester where she joined Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Her hobbies included crocheting for family and friends and square dancing.

Elsie is survived by two daughters, Irene Koster and Darlene (Ted) Clikeman, both of Rochester, Minnesota; one son, Duane (Carolyn) Nicholson of Baudette, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 19 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, an infant son Bruce, and four brothers.

Burial was in the Grafton Cemetery, Grafton, Iowa.

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Elsie Nicholson, 96, of Rochester, Minn., died Tuesday (Sept. 17, 2002) at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Grafton with the Rev. Wayne Ellingson and the Rev. Tom Koelln officiating. Burial will be in the Grafton Cemetery in Grafton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services Monday at the church.

Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home in St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; one infant son, Bruce, and four brothers.

Elsie is survived by two daughters, Irene Koster and Darlene (Ted) Clikeman, both of Rochester; one son, Duane (Carolynn) Nicholson, of Baudette, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
