OBITUARY: Howard H. Hoisington, 1940-2005,

Funeral services for Howard H. Hoisington, age 65, of Orchard, Iowa, were held on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Bruce Kaltwasser officiating. Burial was in the Osage City Cemetery.

Howard died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005, as a result of a farm accident.

Howard was born May 26, 1940, in Osage, the son of Vernon and Doris (Carrison) Hoisington. He attended Orchard schools and graduated from Osage High School in 1959.

He was united in marriage to Myrna Krahn in 1961 at Osage. They made their home in the New Haven area. Howard farmed until 1993 and then began working at Featherlite in Cresco, retiring in 2003. He was a member of the Riceville Archery Club, and was an archery instructor, was a member of the Riceville Country Club, and was a former 4-H leader. Howard was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a Deacon at the church. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents.

Howard is survived by his wife Myrna Hoisington of Orchard; two sons, Brian (Lori) Hoisington of Osage, and their daughters, Katie, Cassie and Samantha; and Alan (Ann) Hoisington of Osage, and their daughters, Jessica and Julie; by a sister, Carol (Dale) Decklever of Osage; by a brother, Lee Hoisington of Orchard; and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were made by Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa, Phone: 641-732-3706.
