C. Frances Anderson

Funeral services for Mrs. Melvin (Frances) Anderson, 81, who died in Austin February 18, were held Feb. 24 at Faith United Methodist church in Austin with the Rev. Howard Bredesen officiating. Interment will be in the spring at Six Mile Grove cemetery, Lyle.

C. Frances Anderson, the only daughter of Knut and Emma (Knudson) Leidall, was born in Mitchell County September 15, 1895. She was baptized and confirmed at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran church and attended the rural Union township No. 5 school, and graduated from Lyle high school.

July 27, 1917 she married Melvin S. Anderson and four children were born to them.

They spent the first years of their life on a farm in Nevada township and later moved to Lyle where her husband Melvin operated a filling station from 1934 to 1947. They moved back to Austin. Mrs. Anderson had been a member of Six Mile Grove and Our Savior's Lutheran Churches and since moving to Austin a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Survivors are three sons: Vernon and Darrell of Austin; and Wayne W. of Costa Mesa, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene) Wilson of Garden Grove, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, Leonard Leidall of Lyle and Oscar Leidall of Marion, North Dakota.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Melvin in 1974; six brothers, Albert, Robert, Willie, Fred, Clifford and Walter Leidall.
