Rites Friday at St. Ansgar for Herman Hartwig
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services for Herman E. Hartwig, 80, retired; St: Ansgar area farmer, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar. The Rev. Carl Werffel will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Schroeder and Houg Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hartwig, a lifelong resident of Mitchell County, died Tuesday, at an Osage hospital following a long illness.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John (Ruth) Claus, Mason City; a son, Harold, St. Ansgar; four grandchildren; a brother, Walter, and a sister, Mrs. Eric (Leona) Brummond, both of Warsaw, Wisconsin.

Herman was born on 15 DEC 1883 at St. Ansgar. He died 7 APR 1964. His parents were Herman J. E. Hartwig and Alvine Mielke Hartwig.
He married Louise Johanna Ruebe on March 14, 1911. She died on 21 FEB 1975.
