Benny Ellingson, 87, of St. Ansgar, died Saturday, Feburary 11, 1984 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Private funeral services were held Tuesday, February 14 at the Schroeder and Sites, Inc. Funeral Home in St. Ansgar. Rev E.C. Franke officiated with burial in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar.

A longtime area farmer, Benny Ellingson was born March 8, 1896 in Worth County to Elling and Serena Knudtson Ellingson. He attended area rural schools and also attended one year at the Austin College. He worked for his father on the family farm. He was faithful to the farm until he entered the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center two years ago.

He is survived by a sister, Emily Johnston of Austin, Minn., and a nephew, Paul Johnston of Austin, Minn.
