KRAUS, HEMANN, MILLER

Funeral services were held Tuesday, January 26, 1988 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Robert Kraus, 72, of Osage. The Rev. Leon Connolly officiated and burial was in the Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. Mr. Kraus died Saturday, January 23, 1988 at the Stacyville nursing home.

He was born November 17, 1915 in Stephens, Minnesota, a son of Joe and Agartha (Hemann) Kraus. He moved to Stacyville with his parents in 1924. He received his education in Stacyville schools.

On May 24, 1945, he and Bernice Miller were married at St. Peter's Church, New Haven. They farmed in the Stacyville area. He worked for L.R. Falk Construction Company, and the Stacyville Redi-Mix until 1977 when he retired and moved to Osage.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was an avid woodworker.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice in 1985; his parents; and an infant son.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rod (Jane) McCalman of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons, Ron of Waterloo, Iowa and Don of St. Charles, Missouri; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ray (Gertrude) Halbach of Stacyville; and one brother, John of Charles City, Iowa.
