At St. Ansgar Catholic

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence E. Kleckner, 88, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center February 20, here held February 23 at the St. Ansgar Catholic church with the Rev. John Smith officiating.

Florence E. (Fox) Kleckner was born February 24, 1892 in New Haven. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter Catholic church in New Haven, and attended St. Mary’s Academy in New Haven.

She married Ernest Kleckner June 24, 1913. They farmed in the New Haven area until 1929, and then in the St. Ansgar area until 1953 when they retired to St. Ansgar. Mrs. Kleckner had been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center here for the past eight years.

Mrs. Kleckner was a busy homemaker, was active in the St. Ansgar Rosary Society, and had the distinction of being the Society’s first president. She was also active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Farm Bureau and other community affairs.

She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Gaylen (Bernice) Paulson of Osage and Mrs. Jay (Mary) Schwalbe of Pleasanton, Calif.; six sons: Adrian of Charles City; Robert, Maurice and Raymond, all of St. Ansgar; James of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and William of Stevens Point, Wis.; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Duff of Toronto, Canada; one brother, Walter of LaMesa, Calif.; 42 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Kleckner was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two daughters, Helen and Patricia, and one son, Arnold.

Burial was in St. Peter cemetery in New Haven with Rev. Smith in charge of the committal services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Kleckner, 89, who died at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, February 20, 1981, were held on February 23, at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church, with Rev. J. Smith officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery in New Haven. Schroeder Funeral Home made the arrangements.

Ernest J. Kleckner and Florence Fox were married on June 24, 1913. They farmed in the New Haven area until 1929 and in the St. Ansgar area until 1953, when they retired to St. Ansgar. For the past eight years she has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar.
