Dreher, William G. -- Died September 27, 1956
Funeral services for William G. Dreher, 76, of Carpenter, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage Saturday, September 27, 1956 were held at the First Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Henry H. Dohmeier, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Rock township officiating.
Mr. Dreher was born August 28, 1880 in Cook County, Illinois, the son of Reinhold and Emma Dreher. He grew to manhood on the family farm in Mitchell County where he attended the rural schools. He was baptized and confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
He was united in marriage to Genevieve Elizabeth Person of St. Ansgar October 1, 1907. This union was blessed with two children, a daughter, Winifred and a son, Myron.
Mrs. Dreher died in April of 1911 following the birth of their son. At this time, Mr. Dreher left the family farm. In recent years, he had lived in Carpenter where he was engaged in carpenter work until he suffered a stroke a week ago from which he never recovered.
Mr. Dreher is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Conrad (Winifred) Buehler of Waterville, Ohio and son Myron of Mason City; also a sister, Mrs. Margaret Harcourt of St. Ansgar, two brothers, Fred and Charles and eight grandchildren. Three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Burial was in the St. Ansgar City Cemetery with Rev. Dohmeier in charge of the committal services.
