OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral rites are pending for John L. 0lson, 91, who died of a heart attack Tuesday at his home in Osage. The body is at the Champion funeral home.
He was born in Ulensaker, Norway, May 24, 1862, coming to the United States when 20 years of age, and settled at Stoughton, Wisconsin.
He married Dora Martin there on May 3, 1891. The couple lived their first year of married life at Stoughton, then purchased a farm in Floyd county, south of Osage, where they lived until 1919, when they retired to Osage.
He had been active in farm activities even during his late years, as well as being active in the affairs of the community, particularly the Methodist Church.
He leaves three daughters: Eunice of Hazel Green, Kentucky, Mrs. Francis Lee Albert of Philadelphia, Pa., and Hazel of Osage; three sons: Thomas of Waterloo, Iowa, James of Austin, Minnesota, and Frederick of Mason City, Iowa; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding him were his wife, two brothers, Olavus Furfett and Martin, and one sister, Lena.
