Funeral services for Mrs. Laura J. Dasen, 86, who died at the home of her daughter in Minneapolis August 28, were held September 2 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. S. Engelstad officiating.
Laura Josephine (Rivener) Dasen was born November 30, 1888 in Bode, the daughter of Christian and Anna Rivener. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran church in Bode. She attended rural school near Bode and later attended the Lutheran Ladies Seminary in Red Wing, Minn. From 1908 until 1913 she was employed at the Kinseth and Helmericks General Store in Ottosen.
October 10, 1913 she married Paul Dasen and one daughter was born to them. In 1927 the Dasens moved to a farm in Worth county just west of Carpenter. In 1944 the couple retired and moved to St. Ansgar. They were members of Deer Creek Lutheran church and later joined the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar.
Mrs. Dasen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; she is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Vincie Rewoldt of Minneapolis; one granddaughter, Mrs. Laurene Mersch of Fairfax, Minn.; two great grandsons; one brother, Melvin Rivener of Renier, Ore.; three sisters, Rolena Rievener of Portland, Orl; Mrs. Clayton (Viola) Yoder of Aurora, Ore. and Mrs. Rudy (Lona) Reinertson of Eugene, Ore.; many nieces and nephews.
Burial was in First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of committal services.
