Jorgine Larson was born on the eighth day of July, 1817, at Lindelse on the island of Langeland in Denmark. In 1842 she married Carl Bogh Jorgensen.* To them seven children were born; five of whom are living. The one having died in infancy, the other at the age of twenty four years.

In 1862 her husband died. She remained at her old home until 1882 when she came to America with her daughter, Mrs. P. Larsen and since that time she has made her home with her children in and around St. Ansgar.

The children still living are: J.B. Carlsen and Mrs. Christena Aagesen of St. Ansgar, Mrs. Tena Larsen of Carpenter, Mrs. Anna Guldborg of St. Paul and Mrs. Mary Bendixson of Milwaukee, Wis. The deceased passed quietly away on the morning of the 17th of January 1906. The funeral was conducted Saturday afternoon by Rev. Waldeland at the N.L. church.

*The name being different from that of her son J.B. Carlsen was in accordance with an old Danish custom.
