Miss Clyde Dies Funeral Set for Wednesday

OSAGE, IOWA — Funeral services for Miss Mary E. Clyde, who died Monday in Mason City, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home here. The Rev. Ralph F. Johnson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Mason City, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Hugh M. Wright, Osage. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Clyde was born at Mitchell on August 25, 1878, the daughter of Jefferson and Harriet Wedgwood Clyde. She lived at Osage where she attended public school and was graduated from the Cedar Valley Seminary.

She attended Iowa State College, Ames, and taught for several years. Later she became a librarian, resigning from the Duluth Public Library to return to Osage where she cared for her parents. Following their deaths, she made her home with her sister, Flora Danforth, at Mason City.

Surviving are her sister, Mrs. Danforth, Mason City, and three brothers, Frank of Augusta, Georgia; John of Oakland, Calif., and Arthur of Clarendon Hills, Illinois.

Three brothers: Ray, Alva, and Fern, preceded her in death.
