Mrs. Bendickson, who has been in failing health for some months past, died at her home in this township the latter part of last week, and her funeral took place Sunday. She was born and brought up in this township and was greatly esteemed by all who knew her.

Mrs. Laura Bendickson, daughter of Mr. Erick Gunderson, died Friday after a lingering illness from consumption. She was married about two years ago to her surviving husband. Deceased was an accomplished young lady respected by all. The funeral services were held at the Norwegian Lutheran Church Sunday morning and were largely attended. We join with many friends in extending sympathies to sorrowing relatives and friends.

Hannah Laura Gunderson was born March 9, 1870 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa to Erik Gundersen and Louisa Gunhilda Helgeson, the oldest of their eleven children. She was baptized in 1870 and confirmed October 19, 1884 at the First Lutheran Church, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
Found in the 1870 - 1885 censuses at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa:
1870: Erik Gunderson 27, Louisa Gunderson 20, Lowery Gunderson 4/12 (says son, should be Laura, daughter), John Holgerson 76 (Louisa's father), Anna Holgerson 50 (Louisa's mother), Lucinda Holgerson 15.
1880: Erick Gunderson 37, farmer, Louisa Gunderson 31, Laura Gunderson 10, John J. Gunderson 8, Patrena Gunderson 5, Gustave Gunderson 4, Emiel Gunderson 2, Levie Gunderson 7m, Halver Larson 20 hired hand, Ole Olsen 21 hired hand, Cristie Severson 22 servant, Julia Severson 20 servant, Ella Larson 17 renting a room, Knud Gunderson 47 (Erick's brother) no occupation, just arrived from Norway, Trenre Gunderson (Knud's wife) 55.
1885: Erick Gunderson 42, Lovisa Gunderson 34, Laura Gunderson 14, John Gunderson 13, Petrina Gunderson 10, Gusta Gunderson 8, Amil Gunderson 7, Lave Gunderson 5, Melvin Gunderson 2, Maria Gunderson 1, Mathia Findstad 35, Olans Larsen 32.
Hannah married Sven H Bendickson on October 19, 1889 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa, they had no children.
She died August 21, 1891 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa from tuberculois and is buried at the First Lutheran Cemetery, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.
