Torkel Nelson Borsheim was born in Hardanger, Norway, April 28, 1834 and died at St. Ansgar, Iowa March 6, 1915. He was baptized, confirmed and grew to manhood at his native home and there was married to Miss Brita Hylden, April 28, 1858.

In the spring of 1865 they left Bergan, Norway and landed in Quebec after a voyage of seven weeks. He came to St. Ansgar and made his home with his brother, Peter, who had preceded him here, for the first three years, then purchased the farm, which was his home ever after.

Four children with their widowed mother remain to mourn his death. They are; Sarah, now Mrs. Torblaa, of Foston, Minn.; Nels A., St. Ansgar; Ole B., Blair, Wis.; Hans T., Austin, Minn.

The funeral was conducted by Rev. M.E. Waldeland at the U.N.L. Church.
