Funeral services will be conducted Friday at the First Lutheran Church by the Rev. O.A. Langehough, for William C. Bowers who died at his home Sunday following a long illness. Interment will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

William C. Bowers, eldest son of Karl and Hulda Bauer was born on May 26, 1879 in Furstenwalder, Germany. He immigrated to this country with his parents at the age of one year. After receiving religious instruction in the Lutheran Faith he was confirmed at the Immanuel Lutheran Church at St. Ansgar on April 7, 1895 by the Rev. E. Hantel. He was married on July 16, 1924 to Ina Knutson. This union was blessed with two sons, William Carl and Gaylon Bruce. He spent 63 years of his life in St. Ansgar. Mr. Bowers was a painter and interior decorator for more than fifty years. He reached the age seventy years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, his two sons, William at home, and Bruce of the United States Air Corps, stationed at Manilla, Philippine Islands, one brother, Walter of St. Paul, two sisters, Amanda of St. Ansgar, and Clara of Waterloo, Iowa.
