Mrs. George Plummer Memorial Services Held First Lutheran Church
Memorial services for Mrs. George (Laura) Plummer, 77, of St. Ansgar, who died Wednesday, September 2, (1987) at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital were held Saturday, September 5 at First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, with the Reverend Thomas Hughes officiating.
Mrs. Plummer was born June 14, 1910, in Newburg Township in Mitchell County to Charles and Hilda (Larson) Zwerneman. She graduated from Lyle, Minnesota High School in 1928.
On June 21, 1935 she married George Plummer at Preston, Minnesota.
The couple lived in Lime Springs for several years. Mrs. Plummer worked for a dentist in Chester for 13 years. The couple moved to St. Ansgar in 1950 where she was manager of the Economy Store for 17 years. The couple moved to Mason City in 1967 where Mrs. Plummer was a buyer and sales clerk at Damon’s until 1977 when she retired and returned to St. Ansgar.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Duane (Laurel) Kimber of St. Ansgar; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hazel Moore of Mason City; and a half sister, Mrs. Glenn (Mildred) Martin of Edina, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George in 1982, and infant son and two brothers.
The body will be cremated. Burial will be in Newburg Township Cemetery near Carpenter at a later date.
