OSAGE, IOWA - Norma Lee Jacobs, 79, of Osage, passed away Tuesday (Dec. 15, 2009) at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Mo.
Norma was the daughter of Henry and Lola (Penney) Johnson, of Osage. She was united in marriage to Galen Oscar Jacobs on June 12, 1949. Galen and Norma lived near New Haven and farmed most of their married life.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Orchard, with Pastor Jan Tjaden officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Surviving children of Norma are Rene (Larry) Killion, of Joplin, Mo., Linda Jacobs, of Marshfield, Mo., Janell Routledge, of Carl Junction, Mo., David (Holly) Jacobs, of Asbury, Mo., and Mark (April) Jacobs, of Carl Junction, Mo. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Francis (Joann) Jacobs, of Osage; and Jack Williams, of Strawberry Point; sister-in-law, Vera (Richard) Gajewski, of Baltimore, Md.; as well as a good number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Norma in death are her parents; her husband, Galen; her son, Charles Dean Jacobs; brother, Clifford Johnson; and sister-in-law, Josephine Williams.
