RICEVILLE, IOWA - Ellen Vivian Wilson, 94, of Riceville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, at the Riceville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Pamela Kranzler officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. Friends may call one hour before services on Thursday at the church.
Ellen was born in Wellsburg, Iowa, on Nov. 20, 1915, to Dr. Joseph Alfred and Imogene Vivian (Morgan) Uran. She attended local schools and upon graduation from high school attended the American Institute of Business where she received her degree.
Ellen was united in marriage to Bill James Wilson on December 20, 1946, at Hapeville, Georgia. Ellen was an active member of the Riceville United Methodist Church in her younger years, a Girl Scout Leader for many years in Riceville and loved scrapbooking. She worked for the Riceville Community Rest Home as a bookkeeper until her retirement.
Survivors include her four daughters, Sharon Fleming and her husband Harold of Milan, Ill., and their daughter, Misty and her husband Steve Thiltgen, and their children Mary, Sabra, Millicent, and Sophia; Janice Wilson and her friend Mike Jacobs of Charles City, and her daughter Lavinia "Lee" and her husband Allen Neiman and their children Levi and Reno; Rene and her husband Darwin Rieman of Rudd, and their children Kaniz, Troy, Kamina and Ellen; and Jone and her husband, Ray Jones, of Dublin, Ga., and their children Kelley, Crystal, Katie, and Carrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill James Wilson, in 1979; a granddaughter Sabra Rieman; two brothers: Donald and Marshall Uran; and one sister: Margo "Margaret" Lovelife.
