Robert B. Winkels, 86
Robert B. Winkels, 86, of Austin, died Sunday, Feb. 10, 2002 at St. Marys Hospital.
He was born in Meyer, Iowa, November 6, 1915. On August 12, 1944, he married Frances Robran at Camp Hood in Belton, Texas. He worked at the Winkels Construction Company in Austin, until he retired in 1976. He was an active member in the Catholic Churches.
He was a member of American Legion Post, Commercial Club, Volunteer Fireman, Knights of Columbus, Eagles Club, Stacyville and President of the Golden Age Seniors Club in Austin.
Survivors include daughters, Charlotta Simon, Stacyville; Jane Cummiskey, Waterville, Minnesota; Mary Iverson, Kasson; Master Sergeant Linda, US Army, Fort Lewis, Washington.; sons, Robert, Rochester; Tom, Osh Kosh, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two sisters and two brothers.
Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Ranfranz Funeral Home, Rochester and one hour before the service at the Church.
Service: 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 16 at Holy spirit Catholic Church in Rochester, the Rev. Dale Tupper officiating.
Interment: Grandview Cemetery, with military honors
