OBITUARY: Martin Cornelius Klemesrud, 1870-1930
Martin Klemesrud, 60 years old, died Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Kenneth, here in Osage. He had been at the hospital in Rochester, but when they realized that all had been done for him that medical skill could do, he was brought here in the Champion ambulance.
Mr. Klemesrud was born in Cedar Township on June 25, 1870 to Knud and Liv Grov Klemesrud. He was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran church. On June 6, 1894, he was married to Elizabeth Marie Norby of the Rock Creek community. They farmed for several years in this area before relocating to North Dakota. He operated a garage in McVille, ND for several years. For some time, he and his wife had been living in Grand Forks, ND, where their son, Melvin, and daughter, Theresa, reside. Another son, Clifford, lives in Los Angeles, California.
Surviving are three brothers, Harold Klemesrud of Osage and Herman and Syver Klemesrud of Cedar Township.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1 o’clock at the Champion funeral home and 2 o’clock at the Rock Creek Lutheran church, with Rev. O.C. Myhre in charge.
