OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral rites will be 2 P.M. Tuesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church for Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd L. Olson, who were, killed instantly at 8:45 p. m. Saturday in a two-car crash two miles north of Lyle, Minnesota.

Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery, Champion Funeral Home is in charge.

Rites are still tentative for the other couple, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Pederson, who died in the same crash. Rites will be at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, with burial in the Osage Cemetery.

Both couples were en route to Austin, Minnesota to a Square Dance festival, when the accident which claimed the lives of five, including Virgil Horgen, St. Ansgar, occurred.

Lloyd Olson, 43, was born in Osage in March, 1920, to Oscar and Rose Olson. He spent all his life in Osage with the exception of service in the U.S. Air Corps in the Pacific Theater of Operations in World War II.

He married Laurine Motland in September, 1941. He served as bus driver for the Osage Community Schools.

He is survived by four sons, Steven, 14, Douglas, 13, Dean 11, and Bruce, 8; his mother, Mrs. Rose Olson; one brother, Robert O. Olson, and one sister, Mrs. Walter Bellis, all of Osage.

Mrs. Olson, 31, the former Laurine Motland, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Thelman Moiland, in Dunn Center, North Dakota. As a small child she accompanied her parents to Osage, where she had since lived.

She was a rural teacher. She is also survived by two brothers, Russell, Federal Way, Washington, Leonard, Osage; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thelman Motland, and five sisters, Mrs. Charles Johnson, Mrs. Norman Gaarder, Miss Jeanie Motland, all of Osage, Mrs. John Kurina and Mrs. Robert Denning, both of Seattle, Washington.

Warren Pederson

Warren Pederson, 44, was born December 30, 1918, near Clear Lake to J. Martin and Esther Pederson. He moved with his parents to near Carpenter, and to near Osage. He married Marcella Erbe and the couple lived near Osage.

Surviving are two sons, Michael, 17; Mary {SIC?] 14; one daughter, Marcia, 2; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Marlin Pederson, Nora Springs; and one brother, Wayne Pederson, Lexington, Kentucky.

Mrs. Warren Pederson, the former Marcella Erbe was born October 3, 1922 near Osage, to Harvey and Marguerite Erbe. She was graduated from Osage High School and served as rural instructor.

She was a member of Bethany Chapter, Eastern Star, serving as Past Worthy Matron. Her parents live at Orchard.
