Miss Thorson died January 15, at her home in St. Ansgar of a heart attack.

Clara Josephine Thorson, daughter of Knud Thorson and Ingaborg Blakkestad Thorson, was born June 30, 1886 on the farm home northwest of St. Ansgar. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith in infancy by the in infancy Reverend Johann Olson, and was also confirmed by the same pastor in June, 1901. She remained a member of First Lutheran Church throughout her life.

She attended the rural school in district one, Newburg township, completing the eighth grade, after which she enrolled in the St. Ansgar seminary and graduated with the class of 1904. Soon after this her heart failed and for many years she was under medical care and surgery was required before she could resume an active life. But as soon as her health was restored she took her place as the main helper in the home and filled that position faithfully without question.

About three years ago, she was stricken with a heart condition from which she never fully recovered, and Saturday, January 15, shortly after noon, suffered a sudden attack which proved fatal.

She is survived by two sisters, Helen and Blanche, with whom she made her home. Seven nieces and nephews also survive.
