Mrs. Fidel Lamm Funeral Held First Lutheran
Funeral services for Mrs. Fidel Lamm, 70 who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital July 29, [1971] were held August 2 at the First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Don Comnick officiating.
Ruth Gunhilda Swenson was born in Badger, Wisconsin August 10, 1900, the daughter of Peter and Caroline Golluck. As a child she was in the Wild Rice Lutheran Home, Twin Valley, Minnesota until the age of five when she was taken to the R. and Mrs. Swenson home at Zumbrota, Minnesota to be raised with her foster sister, Delia and foster brother, Rudolph Swenson. She obtained her schooling in Zumbrota.
In 1920 she came to St. Ansgar and worked for the Tom Hume and Ben Hegland families.
In November 1922 she was united in marriage to Fidel Lamm. They resided on a farm southeast of St. Ansgar until the spring of 1971 when they moved to St. Ansgar.
Mrs. Lamm is survived by her husband, Fidel, one sister, Mrs. Otto (Minnie) Koball of St. Ansgar; two brothers, Edwin Gilbertson of Toledo, Ohio and by Glen H. Gilbertson of Mason City; a niece, Mrs. Eddie (Florence) Nelson of Rockford, Illinois, three nieces and a nephew in Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and one brother. Burial was in the St. Ansgar Cemetery with Reverend Comnick in charge of the committal services.
