The funeral of Vernie Ray Anderson who was drowned last Wednesday was conducted by Rev. Waldeland at the Otranto church last Saturday and was very largely attended. He was buried in the St. Ansgar U.N.L. cemetery. Little Vernie was born in Worth county, February 19th 1904 so was nearly eight years of age. His loss is an awful blow to his parents, brothers and sisters, who miss the great happiness which he brought to the home.

Additionl note: Ray W. Kuehl also drowned. They were playing on the ice near Otranto school house.
