Funeral services for Rudolph Anton Robertson, 58, whose body was found in his summer cabin on Women's Lake near Longville last Tuesday, June 11, 1957, were held at the First Lutheran church on Saturday afternoon. Burial was in the Blooming Prairie cemetery. Rev. Ansgar Sovik officiated.

He was born the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Robertson, on November 6, 1898, near Northwood, Iowa, and was baptized into the Lutheran faith the same year at Deer Creek Lutheran church. He moved with his parents to Blooming Prairie in 1915 at the age of 17. He married Jessie Mallison of Minneapolis where he lived until July 1, 1956, when he move to Terre Haute, Indiana.

His death in his cabin came without warning. He leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife, Jessie; one daughter, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Lee of Hayfield; three brothers, Holger of Blooming Prairie, Oscar of Ellendale, and Hans of Minneapolis; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Louise) Brechtel, Austin, Mrs. Forest (Christene) Olsen of Iowa City, Iowa and Mrs. Rudy (Nina) Hartje of Elkton; one grandson, Wayne, and a number of nieces and nephews.

His parents preceded him in death.

He was a kind and loving husband and father. His greatest enjoyment was in serving others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a great sportsman with his main hobby hunting and fishing. He was on his hunting trip when Fate overtook him.

Mr. Robertson had been reported in good health before leaving for his cottage. According to the report of the coroner, his body was found Tuesday by a caretaker making the rounds of the cabins on the lake. It is believed that he suffered a stroke sometime the previous Sunday.

Casketbearers were Elmer, Delbert, and Ray Hanson, Peter Marcusson, Martin and Clifford Robertson.

The body was brought back to Blooming Prairie in the ambulance of the Blooming Prairie Funeral home which had charge of the funeral.

Out of town people attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Hans Robertson, all of Minneapolis, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Carroll, Hampton, Iowa.
