Elmer A. Larson, 1893-1967

Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Rock Creek Lutheran church for Elmer A. Larson, 74, who died early Sunday evening at his home in Osage. Mr. Larson had not been ill prior to his death and had participated in a family observance of the golden wedding of his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Larson on Sunday.

Elmer A. Larson, the eldest child of Lewis and Catherine Nelson Larson, was born on the home farm southwest of Osage on November 19, 1893. He was baptized, confirmed and had been a life-long member of Rock Creek Lutheran church. His education was received at the rural Dudley school in his home community and at Cedar Valley seminary in Osage.

He was united in marriage to Alice D. Lundene on March 24, 1915, at the parental Lundene home in Floyd County. They established their home on a farm southwest of Osage and this remained his home until he retired to Osage about four years ago.

Included as survivors are four sons: Leland of Emmetsburg, Melbourne of Rudd, Kenneth and Donald of Osage, as well as eleven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Lloyd of Rudd and Clifford of Osage; one sister, Mrs. Erwin (Rosella) Troge of Osage; and one aunt, Mrs. Tina Naig of Osage.
