Funeral Services were held on Monday, December 9, 1985, at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter for Randall S. Perkins, 76, of Lyle, who died on Friday, December 6, 1985, at a St. Ansgar nursing home. Rev. E. Hanke officiated, and burial was in Deer Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Perkins was born on June 26, 1909 in Lyle, Minnesota, to Ben and Helen Johnson Perkins.

He is survived by his wife, Selma of Lyle; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Helen Marie) Funk of Osage; one son, John of Decorah; four sisters: Avis Goblerisch of Phoenix, Arizona, Anita Lillegaard of Lyle, Minnesota, Helen Hackbarth and Donna Thomsen both of Austin, Minnesota; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Randall S. Perkins Funeral Held At Deer Creek Lutheran

Funeral services for Randall S. Perkins, 76, of Lyle, who died at the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center December 6, 1985, were held December 9 at Deere Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter, with the Reverend E.C. Franke officiating.

Randall Silas Perkins was born in Lyle, Minnesota June 26, 1909, the son of Ben and Helen (Johnson) Perkins. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lyle, and became a member of Deer Creek Lutheran Church, Carpenter soon after his marriage to Selma Johnson August 13, 1927. Three children were born to them.

Mr. Perkins was employed for 41 years at the George A. Hormel Co. in Austin, Minnesota and lived on a farm west of Lyle until his retirement in 1971 when the Perkins family moved to Lyle. He loved nature and was an avid fisherman. He enjoyed many summers at their summer residence at Longville, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Allan Eugene.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Selma of Lyle; one son, John of Decorah; one daughter, Mrs. Keith (Helen Marie) Funk of Osage; six granddaughters, Marlene Funk Sylvester of Rochester, Minnesota; Margaret Funk Brumm of Iowa City; Cynthia Perkins Bebee of Rose Creek, Minnesota; Marcia Perkins Sewick of Lyle; Lori Perkins Finnell of Wahiawa, Hawaii; Renae Perkins McIntosh of Decorah; also 10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. William (Avis) Goblirsch of Phoenix, Arizona; Mrs. Joy (Anita) Lillegaard of Lyle; Mrs. Orrie (Helen) Hackbarth of Austin, Minnesota, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Thomsen of Austin, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews.

Burial was in Deer Creek Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Franke in charge of committal services.
