MASON CITY, IOWA - Guy C. Williams, 87, of 2223 24th St. S.W., died Monday (Dec. 23, 2002) at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Wayside Chapel, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Jeff Dahlin officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery in Osage.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave.
Memorials may be given to the Guy C. Williams Memorial Fund.

Guy was born May 8, 1915, in Waterloo, the son of Lancie and Hazel (Stokes) Williams. He spent his boyhood years in Pierre, S.D. In 1933, he graduated from Osage High School and served his country in the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946.
On April 10, 1943, Guy married Helen Barrick. They moved to Manly in 1946 where he ran the Manly Hatchery. In 1961 they moved to Osage where he was affiliated with North Iowa Hatcheries. Mason City became their home in 1969 where he was employed by MacNider Art Museum.
Guy loved art, music, drawing, painting, making pottery, weavings and building musical instruments, figurines and furniture. His interests also included bird watching, astronomy, genealogy and growing flowers.
Guy is survived by son, Gerald Williams and his wife Linda of Missouri; daughter, Cathleen and her husband Dennis Palmini of Wisconsin; daughter, Rebecca of Arizona; son, Robert Williams and his wife Mary of Mason City; grandchildren, Jeff, Melissa, Tom, David, Andrew, Bethany, Ryan and Steve, and eight great-grandchildren.
Guy was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, parents and a brother, Dale.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 27, 2002 for Guy C. Williams, 87, of Mason City at First United Methodist Church, Wayside Chapel, 119 S. Georgia. The Reverend Jeff Dahlin officiated. Interment was in Osage Cemetery, Osage. He died Monday, December 23, 2002 at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit.
Guy C. Williams was born May 8, 1915 in Waterloo, IA the son of Lancie and Hazel (Stokes) Williams. He spent his boyhood years in Pierre, SD. eight great-grandchildren and a sister Merle Carter of Osage.
