A memorial mass and service was held Saturday, November 3, 2001 at Visitation Catholic Church, Stacyville for Ada "Ann" Adams, age 78, of Stacyville. Father Joseph Schneider officiated and inurnment was in the Visitation Cemetery, Stacyville. She died Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City.

Ada was born Dec. 6, 1922 in Eliott, North Dakota the daughter of Earl and Glade Kaufman Barber. On Nov. 9, 1942 Ada married William "Bill" Adams in Plymouth, MI. Ada was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked as a 4-H leader for six years and as a Cub Scout leader. Once her children were all in school, Ada worked as a nurse’s aid and went back to school to become an LPN at the age of 50. She was employed at the Stacyville Community Nursing Home until her retirement.

Ada was guided to the other side by her parents; her husband, Bill Adams; a brother, Bob Barber and a son, James Adams.

Those that survive her include her seven children, John Adams of Stacyville, Joyce Buttolph of Austin, MN, Joseph Adams and wife, Pat, of Virginia Beach, VA, Janice Trowbridge and her husband, George of Pensacola, FL, Jody Cox of Mason City, June Adams of St. Ansgar and Jerome Adams and wife, Marilyn of Stacyville; a sister-in-law, Anna L. Adams of Stacyville; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; and special friends, Catherine MacLaren, Ruth Wiltse and Marie Crow.

ADA 'ANN' ADAMS

STACYVILLE - Ada "Ann" Adams,78, of Stacyville, died Tuesday (Oct. 30, 2001) at the Heritage Care Center in Mason City.

A Memorial Mass and services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with Father Joseph Schneider officiating. Inurnment will be in Visitation Cemetery in Stacyville.

The family will receive family and friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Visitation Catholic Church with a 7:30 p.m. scripture service.
