Funeral services for Oscar A. Ahlf, 80, who died January 25, were held at the Immanuel Lutheran church here January 29 with the Rev. Norman E. Betke officiating.
Oscar Albert Ahlf was born September 29, 1896 in Mitchell county, the son of Claus Edward Ahlf and Louise nee Treichel Ahlf.
He was baptized in the Christian faith, November 11, 1896 at Immanuel Lutheran here by the Rev. Drexler. His sponsors were Emilie Groth and Albert Priem. He confirmed his baptismal vows March 20, 1910, having been instructed by the Rev. Paul Brammer. He became a life long member and was a member of the Voter’s assembly.
He farmed the home farm west of St. Ansgar all his life, making his home with his sister, Bertha, who cared for him in his last years of illness.
Survivors are his sister, Miss Bertha Ahlf of rural St. Ansgar; sisters, Mrs. Olga Dieterich, Mrs. Teresa Eske, Mrs. Martha Knaak; one brother, Edward; nieces and a nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Richard in infancy and Henry of St. Ansgar.
Burial was in Immanuel Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Betke in charge of committal services.
