Melvin H. Kittleson Funeral Held Here Wednesday, December 11

Funeral services for Melvin (Bob) H. Kittleson, 66, of St. Ansgar, who died December 9, 1985 at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, were held December 11 at First Lutheran Church here with the Reverend Thomas Hughes officiating.

Melvin Henry Kittleson was born April 24, 1919 in Otranto Township, the son of Henry and Grace [Grace Gertrude (nee) Porter] Kittleson. He was baptized in the St. Ansgar Methodist Church, and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar December 4, 1955. He attended the St. Ansgar public schools.

He married Phyllis Tollefson in Decorah October 7, 1955. Mr. Kittleson was employed by Tessman Implement, Kittleson Implement and the Chancellor Produce, which he later purchased and operated for many years. He drove school bus for the St. Ansgar Community schools for several years as well as serving as a volunteer fireman here. In more recent years he had been employed by Low Oil Co. of St. Ansgar.

Mr. Kittleson is survived by his wife, Phyllis of St. Ansgar; two sons, Dale and David of St. Ansgar, two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Sherry) Madden of Zumbrota, Minnesota and Mrs. Dale (Shirley) Leeman of Clarks Grove, Minnesota; also five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Victor (Pearl) Tostenson of Hollandale, Minnesota; one brother, Clifford of Los Angeles, California; one half-brother, Lyle Christy of Austin, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Norris Anderson of Toeterville; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother, sister and granddaughter.

Burial was in First Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Hughes in charge of the committal services.
