ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m at the home for Miss Nellie Mathilda Gilbertson, 81, who died in her sleep Tuesday night.

She was born on the Gilbertson homestead, two and one-half miles south of St. Ansgar on January 15, 1874.

Her parents were Ragnild and Gilbert Gilbertson. She was one of a family of seven children. She attended Olin rural school, St. Ansgar Seminary and the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

After completing her education she taught at the Olin school near her home, later going to North Dakota, where she taught for a time and also at Duluth, Minnesota. Following the death of her mother, she returned here to take over the household duties in the farm home.

She was a member of the Christian Science church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and three sisters.

A brother, George, survives.

Burial is in the cemetery here.
