Elizabeth Callaghan, daughter of John and Nora Callaghan, was born in Clark County, Ireland in 1827.

She landed in New York in 1851 and the following year was married to John Beecher. They lived there for four and a half years.

In 1855 they joined the early pioneers in the west and lived togehter on their farm north of Mitchell until 1902 and then moved to the home of their daughter. . . .
