FORMER OSAGE TEACHER DIES
Rites to Be Thursday for Mrs. Emma Browne Osage
Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday at the Champion funeral home for Emma DeLaney Browne, 85, who died at a local hospital from ills of old age. The Rev. Milton Nothdurft, St. Ansgar Methodist pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Ansgar cemetery.
Mrs. Browne is a former school teacher, having taught at Chicago, Osage and other places. In 1930 she was married to Robert S. Browne, at Potosi, Missouri. They established their first home there and the following year her husband died.
In 1940 she came to Mitchell county, living for a time with her sister, Alice Lubiens, St. Ansgar, then coming to Osage where for the past 3 years she resided at the Cleveland hotel.
Surviving are 2 sisters, Katherine Crandall, Osage; Alice Lubiens, St Ansgar, and 2 brothers, J.D. DeLaney of Osage, and W.O. DeLaney, Osage.
