Alex Clausen Funeral Is Held at St. Ansgar
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon for Alex Clausen, 78, at the home of his sister, Mrs. J. C. Zahorsky; the Rev. Stiles Lessly of Osage officiating.
Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery. His death, due to heart disease, was just two months after the death of his brother, Chris.
Mr. Clausen was born in Largaland, Denmark, May 12, 1858, and came to this country in 1871, directly to St. Ansgar. He operated a general store at Mona with Mr. Farley of Dubuque. After returning to St. Ansgar he was a decorator and painter.
He is survived by three brothers and one sister, Fred of Racine, Wisconsin, Nels of San Jose, Costa Rica, Alfred of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. J. C. Zahorsky of St. Ansgar
