FORMER OSAGE RESIDENT DIES
Frank Danforth, U. S. Geologist, Dies After Operation in Illinois.
OSAGE, IOWA - Feb. 19 — Mrs. J. F. Clyde received a telegram Monday telling her of the death of her son-in-law Frank Danforth. He was operated upon, Feb 5 [1930] for hernia which was called a success; but it is supposed that embolism may have caused his sudden death.
He is survived by his widow and two children, Helen, who was born while he and Mrs. Danforth were stationed in the Hawaiian islands, and Billie, who was-born in Washington.
Mr. Danforth is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Danforth of Little Cedar who, with a brother and two sisters, survive. He graduated from the Cedar Valley Seminary and from Iowa State College at Ames. Since then he has been employed by the United States Geological Survey as topographer and for several years has been surveying Illinois.
It is not known whether the body will he brought back here for burial or not.
