Delilah Borsheim

Funeral services for Mrs. Delilah Borsheim, 80, who died at the Walker Methodist Home in Minneapolis on Friday, February 6, 1959, were held at First Lutheran Church here Monday, February 9, with the Reverend Don Hamilton officiating.

Delilah Johnson was born in Smith Center, Kansas, on January 27, 1879. In early childhood she came with her parents to Anamosa, Iowa. She was untied in marriage to Ole Borsheim in December 1904. Her husband preceded her in death four years ago. Ole Borsheim and Hans Borsheim of St. Ansgar were sons of a pioneer family (Torkel and Breta Borsheim) who came to this community in 1865 and lived all of their lives here on the farm now owned by Lawrence Dieterich.

Mr. and Mrs. Borsheim at the time of their marriage lived at Blair, Wisconsin, where Mr. Borsheim was engaged in the banking business.

During the past several years they had made their home in Owatonna, where they had business interests. After her husband’s death in 1955, Mrs. Borsheim, due to failing health, was forced to sell her home, and at the time of her death lived at the Walker Methodist Home in Minneapolis to be near her brother, Burton Johnson.

She is survived by two brothers, Burton of Minneapolis and Harris Johnson of Oxford Junction, Iowa; also several nieces and nephews.

Interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery here with the Reverend Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
