OSAGE, IOWA - Mrs. Mabel C. Penney has received word Wednesday of the death of her daughter. Mrs. Thomas Flynn, 34, who died Sunday in a swimming accident in Guatemala.
The Flynn family operates a ranch there. Survivors include her husband, Tom; two daughters Renee, 12, and Leah, 8, and one son Michael, 11, a step-son, Tommy, 5, her mother, and one brother, Richard Penney of Washington, D.C.

NOTES:
Ann Marie Penney was born January 30, 1938.
At age four she and her seven year old brother, Richard were adopted by Hartley and Mabel (Larson) Penney of Osage, Iowa.
Ann graduated from Osage High School and attended St. Olaf and Iowa State College.
She married Carl Lee** Bowman in December 1958 and they later divorced.
** Name may have been Carl E. Bowman, rather than Carl Lee Bowman.
Her drowning death may not have been totally accidental.

DIED IN GUATEMALA
Mrs. Mabel Penney received word last Thursday of the accidental drowning death of her daughter, Ann, Mrs. Thomas Flynn, on Sunday, September 12, 1971, in Guatemala. No particulars of the accident were learned immediately.
Mrs. Flynn, an Osage Community high school graduate, is survived by her husband, Thomas; three children: Renee, 12, Michael, 11, Leah, 8; one step-son, Thomas Flynn, 5; her mother, Mrs. Hartley Penney of Osage; and one brother, Dr. Richard Penney of Washington, D.C.
